The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to gain insight and knowledge of the current climate of increasing drug abuse and violence in our communities and work environments to best prepare us for unexpected events such as active shooter, escalating behavior and violence toward nurses.
Education will also be provided on strategies to stay safe at work along with a perspective from the SD Board of Nursing in relation to nursing disciplinary actions.
South Dakota Nurses Association is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
A total of 4.7 contact hours can be received upon completion of this education activity. Attendance at the entire educational activity is required to receive contact hours.
